Professional Wrestler Damion Cortess joins the show along with Gary Weed and Producer Bobby. But there is one thing on the mind of host Mark Bland, the new "OK BOOMER" line and hashtag on social media.
First off Damion tells the guys about his upbringing. Where wrestling fit into his life. How it changed his perspective. But most of all, the story of his aunt and him regarding Wrestlemania one year...you have to hear the story!
Next, Gary is hot and bothered because his life is changing a bit and he is on the search for a new place to live. But he keeps running into some pretty tough agents and renters. Are they int he right or is Gary in the right about the financial expectations in 2019 and what they will and won't look at?
Finally it's Mark's turn....He's recently been getting called BOOMER n social media and realizes that it is misplaced lack of info that has grown this worthless hashtag. But more than that, it's become a way to be dismissive to people that are older than you...But YOU OWE EVERYTHING YOU LOVE TO GEN X....The internet the way it is, the video games that became your favorite all tested on GEN X before you existed. Mark goes in on thisrant of the YEAR candidate. See if you agree with him!
Evidently it's "Story Time" in the world of The Q. And let's be honest...October is the perfect time to tell spooky stories about people you need to be scared of. But what if they aren't scary at all. What if the people you are discussing are not the monsters that people make them out to be. Well there are two sides to every story and Jonathan May and Gary Weed join to discuss.
Mark starts off discussing a recent issue he had where people went out of their way to make him look bad by taking things out of context. Mark and the guys discuss the manner at which these things happened and why they fall into the "story" world more than anything legitimate in real life.
Next up Gary discusses a post he recently made to facebook regarding people using EBT cards (welfare money) to buy things required when they also had cash money in their pocket and used it to buy other non essential items. People attacked Gary for being insensitive and to look deeper. Where Gary thinks that his point is well versed and deserves to be taken on it's merits in comparison to the country and others moral/ideological stances. Jonathan and Mark sit back to decipher and get to the bottom of Gary's stance and whether everyone chiding him is right or if in fact Gary makes the "nail in the coffin" argument that should dictate peoples thoughts.
Finally Mark discusses kids in 2018 and how they don't have any patience anymore. How this is indicative of TV/Movie industry today when all they do is make remakes of everything between 1985-2015. Also how this perpetual loop will eventually be lost on life and they might maintain this for decades and decades past our current times.
President Donald Trump decided to turn his ire towards the NFL and NBA this week. He tweeted out many tweets downplaying the NFL for their allowing of players to kneel during the national anthem. When the NFL found out, they took umbrage with it and decided to fight back and kneel or even avoid the national anthem outright. Was it right or wrong? Mark and Andy Echele discuss all the things surrounding this topic.
Also, Mark had an interesting week being attacked for absolutely no reason through a certain section of St. Louis' media community. Mark discusses why it was inappropriate to attack him and how the attackers were just wrong in their disseminating of information too. Plus there was a shooting at a 7-11 in Calirfornia with a police officer and assailant. Mark was asked his opinion on the videos and that set Mark off on a different direction totally regarding the way people handle video taping these interactions. What's the stance on this shooting...listen and find out!
Crazy, crazy, crazy world we live in when a person decides through their racist manifesto to go and kill a news anchor and cameraman live on TV. All because he felt that a race war needed to start in the US and he was going to be on the forefront of that and a catalyst for it.
Bryce Williams was told in 2012 to seek counseling or risk losing his job at WDBJ-7, according to internal memos from his personnel file. Williams, real name Vester Flanagan II, was fired from the station in early 2013 after getting one final warning about his aggressive behavior toward colleagues. On Wednesday morning, he opened fire on reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward, two of the people he apparently blamed for his dismissal, killing both of them. He fatally shot himself hours later, after fleeing from the police.
Mark, Producer Bobby and their guest Matt Krueger decide to talk about the value of social media being used in murders in 2015. Is this the first real attempt capitolize on social media for showcasing blame? What has been the ramping up of this? Did Ferguson and the Boston bombing open this door further and Vester just kicked it in hard? All these things will be discussed in detail.
But before that, Krueger has decided that his life was a mess and that his attitude was a real problem. So he has come to an epiphany of why this was the case, but it doesn't sit well with Mark because Mark claims to have been telling him all these things for years and years prior to this new knowledge...can the guys get to a middle ground in regards to life...find out on this next episode of the Q.

On this episode of the Q, we are fresh off the Grammy awards and the moment when Kanye decided he might interrupt someone again. Should he have interrupted Beck like he planned on? Well Mark certaintly thinks so and discusses it on the show.
Also, right off the bat, Marina Squerciati of the TV show Chicago PD on NBC jumps on the line with the guys to discuss the new season and her entry into the world of acting. But when Mark finds out shes from NY, he starts askng those questions that only New Yorkers can answer.
Next up is Tony Cabral of www.acefilms.com to talk about his yearly jaunt to Sundance Film Festival. Find out who was Tony's big sighting of the year, while out doing his typical work of the Egyptian Theater where he runs the midnight screenings.
Then Mark, Producer Bobby and Tony discuss the Oscars. All giving their picks for who they think will win. Follow along and find out.
Finally, there is a letter from the listener that is tough. So who else but the two Matt's join in to talk about the finer intricacies of relationships and love! Plus they discuss the Mardi Gras party coming up.
This is a huge show and it doesn't disappoint in the least. First up....
Marisa Lather comes on the show to discuss her background in Social Media and consulting for businesses in the Midwest. She delves a little into her personal life before Mark and Producer Bobby square off discussing Bobby's recent decision to abdicate his Facebook page. He claims that there too much negativity and people are not agreeing with him, so he doesn't like that. Marisa discusses with the crew and decides on whether Bobbito is in the right or wrong for that. Plus she confesses that she won't take her boyfriends name if they get married, which is another whole discussion.
Next Judyth Baker joins the show to discus her book, "Me and Lee" about her torid love affair with Lee Harvey Oswald before he was involved in the killing President Kennedy. Judyth explains about Abort Teams that her, David Ferrie and Oswald were on. Her involvement with giving cancer to mice and how she excelled at that beyond others and eventually the love life of her and Oswald. Plus she throws Mark for a loop on one question.
Finally Eric Garner's death in NYC was total BS and the crew breakdown what happened and discuss the travesty of the Grand Jury's decision in that case to not bring the officer up on charges. In less than two weeks, 2 grand juries found two officer related deaths of black men as "no true bill" and it set the world on fire in Ferguson, MO and worldwide on the Garner case. Why is this happening, should it be happening and when will it end? Also Marisa suits up for a good HOTSEAT moment and plays a game of "Would you Lather" to finish it all off. Plus there is a dirty Overtime where we meet a new friend of the show named...MILO (pronounced MEE-LOW).

On this epsiode of The Q, Mark Bland and Producer Bobby breakdown a story from Oregon about police officers taking down a hardened criminal that is NINE YEARS OLD. Evidently having a scuffle on the playground at 9 is too much for some to deal with and they need to take it to the next level.
Also, Mark and Bobby got some great feedback regarding doing letters from the listeners on the show last time, so they dive into another batch including stories about: Mothers getting alcohol as a Mothers Day gift and whether that is appropriate; What if you best friend saw a private "sexy" picture of your new boy/girlfriend, would you be hesitant to introduce them to your BFF? That and many others on the show this week.
Next Bobby had a serious pile on situation with Facebook regarding a Sandy Hook story. He started to get attcked perosnally for having an opinion that was different than the maority in the discussion and was chastized for that. We discuss the story, the reactions and the reasons for and against Bobby's opinion and why it was such big deal.
Finally we have a little talk about how Russia is deciding to kill off the value of the American Dollar in their trading which potentially could send the US and other nations into a state of hyper inflation if they get enough outside support for such a move. We talk as a nation about "not caring abotu them" and that we are "the best country in the world"....so what happens when everyone stops thinking that and de-values your money internationally to the point that companies in your own coutnry have to overcharge for eveything to keep up? We discuss in depth.
All this and GAME ON/GAME OFF finally returning for the first time in a few weeks. Taking talk radio and turning it to 11....this is THE Q!

Well the results are in and it seems that 12 Years a Slave is the best picture in the land...but that deosn't stop the Conservatives and right wingers from claiming that the only reason it won was because of White Guilt. Really...white guilt?
Andy Echele, one of the Q show all stars, joins Producer Bobby, Dan Walsh and Mark Bland in their quest to discuss and figure out if there is this overbearing feeling of white guilt still alive in 2014 or if this was just the best movie of the lot.
This leads to a discussion about stereotypes when Andy brings up the recent tweets of long standing St. Louis Broadcaster Charles Jaco and if his belief about motorcycle riders was a "joke" that went too far or if there is truth to the background of certain stereotypes that Mr. Jaco's social statement was making.
Next the guys attack te recent decisions of Vladimir Putin and his Russian Army's steadfast decision to push forward on the Ukraine and their fleet in Crimea. Does Putin have a foot to stand on? Will this lead to another potential Cold War or even a new World War? And what should be the U.S. position on this? Should Obama have a say in this or should the U.S. position be one of isolation in regards to protecting itself? The guys look through all the options and discuss it all.
Also Game ON/Game OFF and an Overtime with more of those amazing advice stories you've come to love and admire. This is an episode of the Q you don't want to miss!
(right click and "save as" for D/L)
On this episode of the show, popular guest Andy Echele makes his long awaited return to the show after spending 5 months on a island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with the equivalent of 1978 life going on. Andy returns to talk with Mark and Producer Bobby about the island and what are some of the things he will miss and what it was like being put into self imposed exile.
Also, its 2014 and Coloradians have the ability to purchase marijuana legally without any repercussions. Andy takes exception with this when he brings up the legal ramifications regarding the national law that still has it as illegal. Mark, Bobby and Andy discuss the the two sides to this and why it will or won't work.
Also also Marks first rant of the year has to do with social media and how people tend to choose their ways of unfriending or even blocking people online. This comes on the heels of a story where a old good friend of Marks, that he never talks too anymore, decided without explanation to unfriend him on facebook and block him.
Plus....Overtime, GAME OFF/GAME ON and much more! Real Radio, Real Honest....its the Q!
