Another week and another great episode of the Q is here for the pleasure of the world. And this weeks guest is no slouch when it comes to radio, being a former on air talent with the DC and the Family morning show...so welcome Jesse Barban.
This weeks show starts up on a down note with the news of WWE Ultimate Warrior, who was recently inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame, passing away in a very weird and unseen fashion. The guys discuss the history of the Ultimate Warrior. How he was influential to their careers in wrestling (Mark and Dan Walsh) and how eerie the final speech he gave on Monday Night Raw was in regards to the timing of his death.
Next the guys jump in and discuss the history of Jesse and his work in radio. Jesse worked with DC and the Family as an on air talent and has since taken a position with Apple. Jesse lets everyone know that his history with DC and radio date back to an old Steve and DC Halloween show where some land that his family owns was used for the show that year. This brings up a early part in Mark's career and how he was involved with the said radio show the night it emulated from the McPike Mansion in Alton, IL.
From there the men go down two separate paths. Mark received a letter from a listener complaining about the economic recovery and how long it has taken. Mark and Dan Walsh tear into the listener for being overly focused on the wrong things and how they play no part in the recovery in 2014. Next they discuss the decision of a foreign man to get a McDonald's receipt tattooed on his arm and whether this is a good/bad thing. Plus Bobby makes HUGE GUEST announcement for the next show.
Finally some GAME/GAME OFF and of course OVERTIME* that comes on after the show goes off the air. This is what you been waiting for...another episode of the Q!
*OVERTIME HAS EXPLICIT CONTENT, PLEASE USE PARENTAL GUIDANCE
Former Gambino crime family member and reformed gangster Louis Ferrante decides to join Mark, Matt Krueger and Producer Bobby on this weeks edition of the Q. With years of jail time under his belt and a penchant for the truth, Louis joins the guys to talk about his new Discovery Channel show called "Inside the Gangsters Code". Louis discusses working with John Gotti, the feeling he had when finding out about the movie Goodfellas coming out and who he found to be very serious during the filming for the TV show. Definitely one of the interesting and entertaining interviews ever on the Q.
Next DC Chymes joins the crew to discuss a story that was released regarding a drug manufacturer that used ever excuse in the book to not help a sick child attain a medicine they control that could save his life. But how did we as a society get to this point? Why is it okay to not be humane to other human's when dealing with life threatening injuries and sicknesses. DC brings up the big business that is drug manufacturing and how it affects many people just beyond those getting/not getting the medicines. A very eye opening discussion for anyone out there.
Finally, Mark goes on a rant about how gas prices are jumping up again and its probably the fault of the money player conservatives that are setting up for 2014 election primaries to get the juices flowing against the democrats and that BARACK OBAMA! MERICA! This amps up Matt who wants to discuss the president and how eventually he will be viewed down the road. The gentlemen go back and forth with interesting points of views regarding how people should feel about presidents during their lives.
All this plus Game On/Game Off and Overtime! Its time for the Q!

Well the results are in and it seems that 12 Years a Slave is the best picture in the land...but that deosn't stop the Conservatives and right wingers from claiming that the only reason it won was because of White Guilt. Really...white guilt?
Andy Echele, one of the Q show all stars, joins Producer Bobby, Dan Walsh and Mark Bland in their quest to discuss and figure out if there is this overbearing feeling of white guilt still alive in 2014 or if this was just the best movie of the lot.
This leads to a discussion about stereotypes when Andy brings up the recent tweets of long standing St. Louis Broadcaster Charles Jaco and if his belief about motorcycle riders was a "joke" that went too far or if there is truth to the background of certain stereotypes that Mr. Jaco's social statement was making.
Next the guys attack te recent decisions of Vladimir Putin and his Russian Army's steadfast decision to push forward on the Ukraine and their fleet in Crimea. Does Putin have a foot to stand on? Will this lead to another potential Cold War or even a new World War? And what should be the U.S. position on this? Should Obama have a say in this or should the U.S. position be one of isolation in regards to protecting itself? The guys look through all the options and discuss it all.
Also Game ON/Game OFF and an Overtime with more of those amazing advice stories you've come to love and admire. This is an episode of the Q you don't want to miss!

DJ Gelner makes his triumphant return to the Q to discuss his new book "Rogue" and his other one "The Big Book of Hobby Ideas" . Gelner joins the guys to discuss what his favorite hobbies were to investigate, as well as, the hobbies that lived up to his expectations of NOT SO GOOD.
Then its on to discussing the new list of HORRIBLE STATES to live in. Mark has been very up front over the years that he believes St. Louis (the home base of the show) is not a very quality place reagrdless of the things that locals try and say to pump it up....well does the list justfy his beliefs?
Then it is on to dicuss the Susan G. Komen organization and a few others that have some nefarious background to their running. Mark was in a discussion with another friend in media when it was brought to his attention that the charity takes in a certain amount of "donations" per year that go to suing other charities as opposed to being use to fund cancer research (as is their claim). Producer Bobby, Dan Walsh, Mark and DJ discuss the impact this has and what the legal thoughts and policies are on this.
Next its time to talk OSCARS! They are upon us and there are a ton of great movies up for the big one. They break down the categories and pick some winners. And finally it is time for another edition of GAME ON/GAME OFF. With that happening, DAN WALSH is not having it this week. He is extremely unhappy about a section of people that exist in the world and evidently Dan runs in to these people quite often. Plus there is a an OVERTIME where the discussion continues based off emails from last weeks Game On/Game off of Bobby bringing up assisted suicide of terminal children in Belgium. Where do the guys stand on this topic? Check out OVERTIME to find out.

We have Pro-Wrestling in the air once again as Lucy Mendez and the women of Resistance Pro Wrestling join us to discuss their upcoming event and talk about their respective histories in the business.
First up is Resistance Pro Women's Champion Darcy Dixon to discuss her backgroundin the business. Coming out of North Carolina and working out with the legend Ric Flair as well as all of the great wrestlers that hail from the legedary southeast. Darcy goes into detail talking about being a female in the lockerroom and what her opinion is of indy workers that try to hit on her and other ladies while they are prepping for an event. Darcy also tangles verbally with Mark before challenging him to a match! Will it happen or not? Well it doesn't matter cause she has the second guest on her mind and in focus.
Mickie Knuckles is a well known female wrestler in the business, but her business is beating people down. And her biggest rival currently is Darcy Dixon. Mickie joins Mark, Producer Bobby and Dan Walsh to discuss her hatred for Darcy Dixon. She also jumps in to discuss a situation that went down in indy wrestling from a few years ago that she was involved in. And in the most impressive thing we have heard on the show in a bit, Mickie talks about growing up in Indiana and being on the male wrestling team in high school.
Finally, Lucy Mendez is also in Studio to discuss being a female wrestle. Lucy joins the guys for the current events section of the show. First Lucy breaks down who her favorite holloywood movie crushes are...and are not. Then its on to discussing guns and them being used in two different situations where people pulled them to scare others off. We discuss the merits of this and whether it should looked at as something to be taken into consideration while working on gun laws.
Finally we have another exciting GAME ON/GAME OFF . And Lucy rears her claws when discussing a section of the Latin culture that is definitely her game off. Also Overtime is attached to the end of the show and another round of advice letters awaits your ears.
Real Radio, Real Honest....It's the Q!

He's BACK! Travis Cook and his ultra conservativeness decide to grace the Q with its presence once again. After months of being banned from the show for claiming he wants to hang the president from a tree.....he's shows back up to start where he left off.
First the guys.....well lets just say.... things quickly fall to bad as Mark and Travis start discussing his cheating attempts with Dynamo Pro to win the tag team titles. This eventually devolves into a yelling fit between Mark and Travis regarding his political positioning and his hatred for President Obama.
After a cool down period...Mark, producer Bobby, Dan Walsh and Travis get back into the swing of the show. The Olympics are going on and Mark wants to know if the winter or summer olympics is everyone's forte. This leads to some talk about what sports can be killed off from the events.
Next the topic of federal rights verse states right comes up regarding guns and an attempt at a law in Missouri to override federal laws regulating them. This starts off a discussion of whether states rights or federal rights came first and a little history lesson from Dan Walsh....booyah!
From there it is a hodge podge of conspiracy discussion (as it always is every time a conservative is allowed to talk) and current event stories to talk about amongst equals. Also a great round of GAME ON/GAME OFF with Travis Cook actually supplying one of the more interesting Game Off's we have ever had!
Finally a little Overtime where we have the best advice story we have ever read on air and the newest Tournament of Pop Culture: Best Will Ferrell Performance. A must listen to overtime if you are a fan of Will Ferrell.

Its Christmas time and in a rare change of events, the one with the rant is Producer Bobby! Although he loves his family and the people around him, he is a little jaded with what is the attitude he deals with from others during the joyous season. We will let Bobby explain it himself on the show.
But before any of that, a listen calls into the show to discuss the plan for Boeing to potentially bring their 777 line to the St. Louis area. It could mean big jobs and long term plans for the company in Missouri, but the listener doesn't see it that way. Listen to find out why he thinks it will be the worst move for the area.
Of course during the Boeing discussion the guys find out that the listener is a avid sports and baseball fan. This perks up the ears of Mark who decides to chime in on his mild opinion of certain players and athletes within the St. Louis Cardinals and around the league. Its obvious Mark excels at Pro-Wrestling and MMA talk , but its always interesting to hear his invaluable (and wrong) opinions of other sports.
And finally Mark finds out that the POPE is Time Magazines MAN OF THE YEAR. Once finding that out, he wants to know who also made the list and if the past years made sense in hindsight. Find out who some of the more prolific people were and where they landed on the charts in Mark and Bobby's opinion.
Also on the card is SELFIE-GATE with Obama, the return of BNN with Producer Bobby, another round of GAME ON/GAME OFF and OVERTIME (for the online listeners)

On this episode of The Q, Justin Deming re-appears to bring his liberal views to the front and center of current events....yet everyone get cut off!Mike Barsel's the general manager of 1420 WINI calls into the Q to explain to Mark that he would like to bring him to his knees in a race for the (clears throat) "Patriot Cup". Mike challenges Mark to come down to DuQuoin, IL for a race to find out who is the better "Merican" in what Mike (and many midwestern's) calls GODS COUNTRY. Well Mark accepts the challenge and puts it out there that he will be in Duquoin, IL on DEC. 17th (2013) for the rollerskating race, and then leaves Mike and the good conservatives of Middle America with some choice words.
Then its on like Donkey Kong....The guys discuss this issue with drug testing for Welfare recipients. Where as Mark is moderate and doesn't mind, Justin is hardcore against it. Mark puts the words to Justin and the discussion becomes quite enthralling. But that is just the start as Mark brings up Jingoism and Imperialism and how today's conservatives tend to ring the bell for those ideals without fully understanding the value of what they are saying and how they will accomplish that.
Finally its time for a dose of reality and the guys get into the new GAME ON/GAME OFF for the week. Will Producer Bobby come through like recent with a flub on the Game Off, or will he change his ways and bring around an amazing example for a Game Off. Take a listen and find out. Plus Mark and Justin have some seriously interesting choices for this weeks game. All this and you get some extra in the OVERTIME right after the end of the show.
Well Thanksgiving is just around the corner and with that being the case, we know that it is not hard for us as Americans to find a way to give thanks and praise for the meal...But what if you weren't able to celebrate because you had to work against your wishes? Well that seems to be the direction that businesses (especially retail) is taking the national holiday and they are starting to do their Black Friday sales earlier and earlier every year. Mark and Bobby discuss the epidemic and the impact that it is having on one of nations greatest yearly rituals.
Plus Mark brings up veterans in a recent discussion online and how that system for benefits due to being a former soldier is sometimes abused by the families of the soldiers. If certain political groups are going to lay blame to people on welfare for abusing the system and needing to shut it down, wouldn't it bode well to apply the same theories across the board to all government programs that have abuse in the system?
Fianlly, another week and another round of GAME ON/GAME OFF...Mark makes sure that Bobby's understands the way the game is played and they hit you with some more great things you need to focus on that you might/might not know about. And some OVERTIME where Mark introduces Bobby to Epic Rap Battles of History. Who are the competitors and who do you think won? Listen and find out!
Its Real Radio, Real Honest....Its the Q!
Jensen Karp are you READY? This is tagline from the opening of every single episode of GET UP ON THIS! on the Smodcast Network. Mark has never been a fan of podcasters cause of how loosely the term gets bantered around by "hobbyist" trying to portray themselves as real talents. BUT....no longer is that totally the case.
JENSEN KARP decided to join our team of Mark, Justin Deming and Producer Bobby to discuss his fantastic podcast and his interesting career in Hip Hop as a signed Million Dollar artist with Interscope Records to his friendship with music icon in 2013. Not to be outdone at any moment, Jensen talks about his decision to open his art gallery and how he has a special place in his heart for achievement in video games that he was able to solidify back in 2003. But the fun doesn't stop there!
Mark and guys decide to do their own impromptu version of Get up on This so that the fans and listeners can get a taste of what him and his cohost, Matt Robinson, do each week entertaining the thousands that listen. Each of the parties involved pick a "Get up On" (something in Pop culture and in general that you need to KNOW ABOUT) and one "get up off" (something that is popular but its time has passed). And by far one of the most fun segments ever done on the Q. So tune in to learn a little about things, Jensen and the Get up on This podcast.
Then we switch gears to discuss the recent fake/real trucker rally for Washington DC that seems to have a lot of "conservatives" involved with it. And they seem to have some interesting reps for TV. Also Producer Bobby brings some more BNN (Bobby News Network) to the table and a letter from a listener that is a difficult position for any person to be in.
