Race relations are huge topic on the minds of everyone in the US during these two volatile weeks in Ferguson, MO after the shooting death of a young man by a police officer. But that's where all the other media outlets stop and The Q starts.
After watching hours of Town Hall meetings and Black/White race relations programming on news channels throughout the country trying to capitalize on the popularity of a sad story....Mark Bland has decided that ENOUGH WEAK DISCUSSIONS IS ENOUGH. The world is not going to get anywhere until the people can be blatantly honest with each other when discussing the topic of black/white relations in the US since Civil Rights. So he put a call into two of his friends to come on the show and discuss not only race relations, but to also take up the flag of defense for 2 hours and defend the black culture. First Mark is joined by Corey "Slo-Down" Edwards a former member famed music group The St. Lunatics. Coming from the rough streets of Wellston,MO to touring the world and eating the best foods available, Corey has done it all and seen what its like to be pushed around and then have those same people want your autograph.
Next Mark is joined by Darryl Frierson, the host of Straight Outta Lo Cash and a civil activist. When it comes to discussing Black and White opinions, Mark and Darryl have gone round and round on both his show and The Q discussing these things. Darryl is extremely opinionated and has spent a majority of the time, as well as Slo-Down, down in the Ferguson area during the protests of the past few weeks.
This show is NOT AN EASY LISTEN. Parental Discretion is advised. There are very adult oriented subjects on this show and no punches are pulled. These men are here to discuss on behalf their cultures the true crux of the issue between the two races. Prejudices are on the surface and the discussion is very deep and pointed. Please do not go into this show lightly.

It is a sad time in the city of St. Louis and specifically a small section of the county called Ferguson where a young man's run in with the Ferguson police turned into a national story. Mike Brown was supposedly gunned down, unarmed, by a police officer and it set off outrage and rioting in the normally quiet STL suburb. The Q hails from STL and Mark the host is very closely related to the area in question cause that is where he and producer Bobby grew up in a neighboring city. With all that said, it was obvious that Mark, Bobby and Lucy were going to have to discuss this issue at length.
First up, Mark put in a call and got former St. Louis City Police Chief DAN ISOM to join the guys on the show and discuss what it is like to stand at the podium and handle a situation of this magnitude. Dan and the cast discuss the case of Michael Borwn, where it leads and what the potential outcomes are. Also they dive into the underlying problems with the lack of information coming out and how the public is viewing the Police departments at this time and whether that viewpoint is a correct way to view them. Plus the guys talk about race relations and the area of town where this is going on. A very in depth discussion on the show and worth every minute.
Finally....Tyler Crandall came on the show to discuss his new found success with the popularity of his "North County Song". Tyler joins the team to talk about his upbringing in North County (the county where Ferguson in located during this situation), what he likes and doesn't and to play the song live accoustically. And he finds a way to make peace with Producer Bobby who is not happy and tell everyone a story that is painful to hear.
All this and much more on the Q....Real Radio, REAL HONEST! And don't forget overtime after the credits roll for some more fun.
*There is choppy audio in the first 20 minute segment. It is annoying but not impossible to listen to.

The guys are back in full forma after taking time off for Producer Bobby to have a baby and Mark to take a much needed vacation.
They also start back with a bang by adding a new home station, 1380 The X in St. Louis as their base of operations. And new times for the show. 1380= 1-3pm CST (Sundays) and 1420= 9-11am CST (Saturdays). Plus they are joined on this little by none other than their favorite 5 ft tall man with 15 ft tall words, Charles "TalkofSTL" Anderson.
First the guys decide to recap something that happened since the hiatus, the Roller Coaster Race 5k. Even though Bobby and Mark touched on it, Dan Walsh never got his say and it doesn't take much time for him to hit his stride regarding it.
Then the guys are joined by inventor Dan Nietzel from Fighting Chance Solutions. He is a working middle school teacher that doesn't like the fear of gun fire on a daily basis and decided to do some thing about it. So he created "The Sleeve" which is a manual metal sleeving system to go over door arms in class rooms, or any room, and quickly dead bolt a door from being entered. The guys jump on and talk with Dan about his career and the invention that could save thousands of lives some day.
Finally the guys discuss the infamous Bowe Bergdahl case from the past few weeks. The former military man is part of a 1 for 5 trade with the Taliban just to get him out of POW status....But the world of conservatives is up in arms because they claim that Bergdahl, and so do some of his military crew, is anti-USA and a known flake when it comes to situations like this. They all claim he deserted his post and is working with the enemy...so we break it down with our military mind Dan Walsh and get to the truth (or whatever that might look like).
All this an much more on the THE Q.....Real Radio, Real Honest!

On this episode of the show, Mark Bland , Producer Bobby and Dan Walsh take on the mystery that is the missing Malaysian Flight 370. They discuss what might have been the cause of the flight going missing and before you know it they are discussing conspiracy theories and the origins of them. Why they come to fruition and some of the ideas the three guys guy's believe have led to the formulation and beliefs in the heads of the creators.
But then its back to reality and Mark is on the warpath to explain to people in this this world that they should focus on what they know best and not discuss things they are not up-to-date and researched on. Mark's basis for argument is that a lot of people are on social media discussing Russian and the Ukraine, yet they are completely blind to the backgrounds and reasons why these things are happening....BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP THEM FROM TALKING LIKE THEY ARE PART OF THE SITUATION DIRECTLY! Mark feels that people should only take stances on things they are well versed in information. What do the other guys feel about this and do you agree?
Finally , a story hits the show every so often that makes everyone on it take a step back. Well that's what Dan does when provided with the hypothetical marriage/relationship with a snake handling Pentecostal woman. Also a Senator wants to provide a bill in his state that makes it okay for businesses to discriminate based on anything. Should businesses be allowed to to do this? Find out what Mark, Dan and Bobby say in this new edition of the Q. And a nice GAME ON/GAME OFF this week!

It's been a hectic week in the good ole US of A and the social media/Internet is buzzing with the verdict of George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin. So what does Mark go and do? He brings in two of his more verbally astute guests to break down one of the most talk about trials in the past 20 years. First up is the FORMER MILITARY VETERAN (the joke never gets old) Jeremy Bailey to temper the blade of the next guest....Travis Cook. That's right!
Travis and Jeremy return for the first time together since their infamous Cook/Bailey debates. And Travis doesn't disappoint his Tea Party beliefs and backing regarding the trial of Zimmerman. The gentlemen discuss the ins and outs of the surrounding information and eventual NOT GUILTY verdict.
But why stop there, the state of Arizona has a nice little Solar Panel fiasco that has decided to rear its ugly head and it has Mark in a tizzy trying to figure out where this country is going when they allow people to save money, but when they save too much money, they start charging them again to offset the savings. Its capitalism at its worst and the discussion slowly transforms from that into Travis' discussion regarding his latest AEG episode called affectionately "SCREW THE POOR". Jeremy takes the bait and Travis/Jeremy begin a class war discussion for the history books.
Not a slow minute in this great episode of the show, plus all the typical favorite sections are here, albeit truncated for your listening pleasure. It's the Q...Real Radio, Real Honest!
Well when the powers that be decide that its okay to have a BLACK ONLY historical college, Mark and Justin discuss the ability for a WHITE ONLY college or school is an option. And all this because a fan decided to write a question that they thought would be good to ask...sheesh!
But before they get there, Mark and Justin welcome SAL WOODS on to the show to discuss his upcoming MMA Match for the MMA Federation in St. Louis on June 22nd.
Also, the guys welcome Bill Delaney again to talk about the new Star Trek: Into the Darkness movie that he just watched. Mark is excited to hear about this, but they never quite get there since the talk turns to remakes and re-imaginings in Hollywood. They guys all talk abou their favorite and least favorite remakes of all time. So do you think yours was mentioned...listen and find out.
Real Radio, Real Honest.....its the Q! Taking talk radio and turning it up to 11!
Mark had to quiet the nattering nabob that was Justing Deming from a past Overtime show where the two argued about the 1st amendment of the constitution and separation of church and state. So to put a nail in the coffin once and for all, Mark called to talk with Constituional Attorney BRIAN VANYO to answer some of the questions that popped up in the best Overtime Episode EVER!
After that, Mark, Jeremy, Greg T and Joe Licious settle in for three segments discussing intenet meme fame and how it can be deadly. Facebook and how people interact relationship wise on the show. A little about the past and how this generation is different through communication than prior ones, and then....
The guys get into a discussion about Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and how there is an Indiegogo page setup in the attempt to get money together to pay off a guy to release a video of the Mayor smoking crack. Its extortion with no winners and guy that has no recourse...especially when 10,000 people are donating money to watch him get his ass handed to him. Is this right, or proper. Should the intentions be as clear as they are? And will this lead to a new style of paparrazi or extortion for the coming years... We discuss it all!
REAL RADIO, REAL HONEST.....ITS THE Q!
